Intimate waxing explained
There are four options. Each one removes a little more hair than the one before.
Bikini wax (£16). Removes hair that shows outside your underwear, along the bikini line.
Extended bikini wax (£20). Goes further than a bikini wax, deeper in and underneath towards the buttocks.
Brazilian wax (£27). Removes most of the hair, leaving a small shape at the front, such as a neat line or a triangle.
Hollywood wax (£37). Removes all the hair.
Not sure which to choose? Think about how much hair you'd like to keep. If you're still unsure, get in touch before booking and Kate will help you decide.
Which wax do you use? Kate uses hot wax for intimate waxing. It's spread on warm, left to set, then lifted off without a paper strip. For other areas, she uses strip wax.
Your first wax: what happens
When you arrive. Kate will check a few things with you first, such as any recent treatments or skin products you use.
Getting ready. You only need to uncover the area being waxed. For intimate waxing, you'll undress from the waist down.
The wax. Kate works on one small section at a time. Waxing can sting, especially the first time and on more sensitive areas, but the feeling passes quickly. You can ask Kate to pause at any time.
Afterwards. Your skin may look a little pink for a while. Kate will talk you through aftercare before you leave.
Before your appointment
Let your hair grow for at least two weeks after shaving. Hair grows at different speeds, and this gives the wax enough to grip.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes, as tight clothing is best avoided afterwards.
If you have sunburn or broken skin on the area, please rebook.
Aftercare
For 24 hours after waxing, please avoid:
hot water, including hot baths and showers
saunas and other heat
the sun
exercise
scrubbing the area
tight clothing
How often should I have waxing?
There's no set rule. Everyone's hair grows at a different speed, so book whenever you feel you need it. Just leave at least two weeks' growth if you've shaved in between.
Many of our waxing clients come back regularly and make it part of their routine. You can book your next appointment online at any time.
When waxing isn't suitable
For your safety, we can't wax an area if you:
have sunburn, broken skin or unhealed wounds there
have had recent laser treatment on the area
use retinoids
are pregnant
If you're not sure, get in touch before booking.
